TERMS AND CONDITIONS   (SERVICE AGREEMENT)


INITIAL CLEANING/ REGULAR CLEANING / MOVE IN / MOVE OUT CLEANINGS (for residential and commercial clients)

Service cost is based on a fixed price up to a maximum of 3 hours for houses, 2 hours for apartments and as specified during the price quote for offices. All cleanings exceeding the specified time will be charged per hour after the expiration of the specified time. All cleanings are subject to signing a Cleaning Service Agreement with Maple Maids or leaving your credit card on file. Maple Maids agrees to provide cleaning materials and equipment needed to perform the work, unless other arrangements have been made with Maple Maids. The client understands that the price he/she has been quoted is not for a “full package service that entails, ironing, laundry, washing dishes etc” and does not include anything apart from cleaning as specified in our cleaning list. All estimates we provide are based on the average time it takes to clean a home or office of similar size from prior experience, so it will be difficult to estimate precisely how long such tasks may take and what degree of flexibility may be required to complete the job.

As mentioned above a signed acceptance of a cleaning order confirmation or credit card on file is required before work commences. Maple Maids reserves the right to amend the initial quotation, should the client’s original requirements change. We require a source of water and electricity to complete all cleaning assignments, so the mentioned utilities should be safe and in full working order. If the customer does not have the required utilities the client understands that an applicable service charge will be assessed if we are unable to do the scheduled cleaning. A charge may apply if Maple Maids representatives need to collect keys from a third party’s address outside the working parameter or premises where work is to be carried out. The customer is advised that most Initial Cleanings, After Construction Cleanings and Badly neglected homes may take longer than a well maintained home requiring general cleaning. Therefore we advise the customer to specify the special cleaning needs before the cleaning begins.

Not included in the service price are: walls, ceilings, curtains, balconies, patios, exterior windows, carpet cleaning, emptying and putting items back in cupboards/wardrobes/drawers, emptying, cleaning and putting back books on bookshelves, washing up and cleaning dishes please inquire about other things not included on the package. Some of the above mentioned services are available at an extra charge please find out when placing the order. If the customer has a dog, cat or other hairy pet then an extra fee may be added to the service price.

PAYMENT:

Reserving an appointment for more than two days in advance:
To secure an appointment we need one of the following:  A credit/debit card on file, prepayment through paypal, send in a check before the cleaning date or sign and fax us the service authorization form.
Payment is due as a deposit before work commences. Deposit must be paid by debit /credit card only.

Reserving an appointment for the following day:
To secure an appointment we need one of the following:  A credit/debit card, prepayment through paypal, or sign and fax us the service authorization form.

Reserving an appointment for the same day:
To secure an appointment we need one of the following:  Instant payment during the reservation by credit/debit card, or prepayment through paypal. An emergency fee is applicable depending on the service location.
Highly congested areas: If we are unable to find a free parking the customer will be responsible for half the parking expense we incur.

All outstanding balances for cleaning services are payable by credit/debit card, cash, paypal or check made payable to the Maple Maids personnel upon completion of the job on the day of the service. If paying by check the customer will be responsible for all bank and legal charges resulting from dishonored checks. There is a $29.00 charge for all returned checks.

The Customer agrees and authorizes Maple Maids to charge any outstanding amounts owed to Maple Maids with regards to the cleaning service provided plus any other charges including service cancellation fees and lock out charges if necessary to the debit/credit card the customer has provided to Maple Maids or being invoiced for the service.

CLAIMS:

Maple Maids is insured and bonded and we also carry workers compensation insurance for our employees. The customer accepts and understands that poor service, breakage/damage or theft must be reported within 24 hours from our service date. In case of damage Maple Maids will repair the item at its cost. If the item cannot be repaired Maple Maids will rectify the problem by crediting the customer with the item’s present actual cash value. Incase of damage or misplaced items a claim form must be filled out to assist us conduct an investigation before any compensation is made. Our liability limits are set at a minimum of 10 times cost of the service charge on the day in which the breakage/loss occurred. If the customer is not completely satisfied with a cleaning job, Maple Maids reserves the right to re-clean the specified areas to customer’s satisfaction free of charge but no refunds will be given due to the nature of the service. All fragile and highly breakable items must be secured or removed. Items excluded from liability are: cash, jewelry, items of sentimental value (the customer will be credited with the items present cash value), art and antiques. Anything that has a high replacement value should remain under the control of the owner, so please do not ask your cleaner to move any electronics, breakables, irreplaceable, fragile or easily damaged items, or anything you cannot have easily replaced. Key replacement/locksmith fees are paid only if keys are lost by Maple Maids personnel.

Maple Maids reserves the right not to be responsible for: delay for a cleaning visit due to traffic congestion or broken down equipment, cleaning job not complete due to the lack of suitable cleaning materials and/or equipment in full working order, hot water or power; third party entering or present at  the customer’s premises during the cleaning process; wear or discoloring of surface becoming more visible once dirt has been removed; failing to remove old/permanent stains that cannot be removed using standard cleaning methods; existing damage or spillage that cannot be cleaned/removed completely using standard cleaning method.

CANCELLATION:

Regular domestic cleaning, office cleaning:
Customer may cancel a cleaning visit/s by giving at least 24 hours advanced notice. Regular customers may terminate the whole service by giving a 3 day advance notice. Customer agrees to pay the full price of the cleaning visit if the customer cancels or changes the date/time less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Customer agrees to pay the full price of the cleaning visit in the event of a lock-out, no one home to let the cleaning crew in; or problem with customer’s keys. If keys are provided they must open and lock the door without any special efforts or skills. Customer agrees to pay the full price for the cleaning visit in case of a termination of the service in less than 24hrs. A regular customer has the right to terminate the service without giving a three day advanced notice but by giving 24 hours advanced notice.



AFTER CANCELLATION OF SERVICE WITH MAPLE MAIDS:

The customer is liable for an employment referral fee of $3,000.00 per person, should you directly employ (either legally or on a cash basis) anyone currently employed by us, or employed by us within the six month period prior to such employment. You agree to pay this fee whether you notify us of your action or we discover this employment independently at any time after it occurs. You further agree to reimburse us for any and all collection or legal fees we incur in collecting this fee.
